Artists write songs to share what he or she was feeling during the good times, bad times, and the ugly times.
Presently, "Breathe" by Anna Nalick is the song with which I feel most insync.
Life's like an hourglass, glued to the table.
No one can find the rewind button, girls,
So cradle your head in your hands,
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe
No one can find the rewind button, girls,
So cradle your head in your hands,
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe
Before today, I hadn't listened to - or even thought of - this song for over a year. A complex component in the brain recited the chorus, presenting me with the precise words to fit my situation.
Has this ever happened to you? You are in a rather distinct mood, and - BAM! - a song just pops into your head?
I often find myself humming along to some ditty as I clean the house:
Working 9 to 5, for service and devotion
You would think that I
Would deserve a fair promotion
Want to move ahead
But the boss won't seem to let me
I swear sometimes that man is out to get me
Mmmmm...
You would think that I
Would deserve a fair promotion
Want to move ahead
But the boss won't seem to let me
I swear sometimes that man is out to get me
Mmmmm...
Or maybe I'm going out to the show; I'm pumped and ready to go! I find myself humming...
I throw my hands up in the air sometimes,
Singing Ayo! Gotta let go!
It sometimes gets to be very awkward. This is especially true when I find my self quietly mouthing...
Shots, shots, shots, shots, shots,
shots, shots, shots,
shots, shots, shots, shots, shots,
shots, shots, shots!
...
... and I look over to discover my busmate staring at me, open mouthed, eyebrows raised questioningly.
This can be an especially annoying quirk when I find myself subconsciously singing love ballads with gusto!
I, I love you like a love song baby,
I, I love you like a love song baby,
I, I love you like a LOVE song baby.
And I keep hitting re-pe-pe-pe-pe-peat.
Despite the lower points, I find this ability to be enlightening and I sometimes notify myself of my mood before I even consciously realize that the class lecture today is "killing me softly, in this throng, killing me softly..."
